Design, and by extension designers, is a hot topic these days. When we speak of design, most people immediately think of graphic design, or possibly industrial or architectural design, or perhaps, depending on the person you’re speaking with, UX design. Design can be a contentious issue with the debate usually revolving around the value of design and its worth as it relates to the product or service.

Do everyday objects benefit from design? Do they need to be covered in chrome with huge tail fins covered in baroque silk wallpaper?
