Why We Love Coming in Second
Like brand new cars, new hardware and electronics lose value the minute they “leave the lot,” making refurbished equipment much more attractive and practical for many businesses. Inteleca’s products are a variety of used, refurbished, and “like new” hardware, and not all are “pre-owned.” Some items may have been from canceled projects, overstock, or businesses that closed (and they still have that new-hardware smell!). Because sellers can’t sell returned equipment at the original price, we purchase it at a fraction of the cost and pass the quality and savings on to our clients and customers.
There are many more advantages to purchasing secondary IT hardware. Here’s a list of all the reasons why we love being #2!
1. Savings
Refurbished hardware can cost half as much as new hardware, and oftentimes less.
‘Nuff said.
2. High-Quality and Reliable
Most people might be surprised to find out that refurbished hardware can be more reliable than the new stuff. Most network hardware failures with new products happen within the first 30 days, meaning people buying new run the risk of being on the receiving end of a “lemon,” or that random, defective piece that came off the production line. Whereas, our quality secondary market products have been cleaned, tested, and put through Inteleca’s certification process before being shipped to you.
3. Better Warranties
Depending on the seller, your refurbished product may come with a better warranty than it would have had if you purchased it new. Inteleca’s end users enjoy a warranty that covers most of our equipment for life. For those who are resellers of our products, our warranty period is 90 days from our invoice date. We also offer an additional 10-day warranty for products having visible/cosmetic damage.
4. Reliable Sellers
There are well-established companies like Inteleca who have a stellar reputation for providing reliable, high-quality refurbished products. Before buying refurbished, you may research a company’s reputation and ask questions about warranties and product guarantees.
5. Availability of Equipment
If you’re buying new, you could wait weeks for a new product to be delivered to you because units aren’t stocked and sitting in a warehouse. When you order new hardware, you may have to wait for the seller to manufacture the product to meet demand. Refurbished products are already manufactured, stocked, and waiting to be purchased. In most cases, Inteleca is able to ship a product same-day, or within a week if we need to source it. When your business depends on your network and you need it up and running now, do you want to risk having to wait? ‘Aint nobody got time for that!
6. Excellent Service and Support
Being smaller companies, third-party vendors like Inteleca tend to offer more personal service. The support they provide is usually more cost effective, and they’re able to support hardware from several vendors at the same time, giving you a single point of contact for great service. More thorough and personalized service from expert technicians for all of your hardware–what more could you ask for?
7. Better for the Environment
Computing devices deplete natural resources, from the raw materials they’re made of to the power used to run them and the issues with disposing of them. When you buy refurbished equipment, you extend its product lifecycle, keeping it out of landfills for a while longer and reducing the need for more new products to be made. The U.S. has made a commitment to become carbon neutral by 2050, and Europe’s Green Deal provides a plan to move the EU to a “circular economy” (designing out waste). When you buy secondary hardware, your company minimizes their environmental footprint, better aligns with the world’s goals, and becomes more environmentally compliant.
As you can see, the best in secondary is often better than the first. It’s a sweet spot where we can deliver quality products and service at an affordable price.
